Note from
President Stokes

When I’m writing (or thinking about writing) my weekly note, sometimes the topic picks and writes itself. Other weeks, I will go through several ideas before I land on one I like.

Over the weekend, this one from the Island of Misfit Note Ideas had some substance, but I couldn’t flesh it out. But here goes.

It’s called the Super Secret 6 – with the 6 weeks left of this Rotary year…and in honor of Paula Nordgarden and all of the members of this Club who go out of their way to be the Community of Rotary, I’m proposing we do a little internal community service.

Starting this week, I challenge you to find ways to do an act of kindness or an act of service for another Rotarian.

Someone needs a visit to feel connected? Find a way to make it happen.

Someone needs shopping done? We find a volunteer or two to help out.

Is there a non-profit out there either led by a Rotary 21 member, staffed by a Rotary 21 member or has Rotary 21 members as volunteers? Here’s your chance to help out.

In this time of COVID, there are always people or organizations in need. And while many of you have literally, more than given at the office, this is our chance to reach out to those people we may not know well, may not see often, or may not be aware there was even a need.

If you have suggestions or prospects or have ideas on how we can make this work or (work better) please reach out to me or Jenna and we’ll work with you to get it done.

We’ll have a discussion this afternoon at the Membership Engagement meeting. Anyone who wants to join, please let Jenna know so you can get the Zoom info.

"See" you on Thursday,
