2/12/26 Rotary Off the Cuff: Louise Joss & Kevin Berkompas

Valentine’s Day Edition

Sweet note or thoughtful gesture?

Louise: I’m going to say, thoughtful gesture.

Kevin: Same here.

Fancy dinner or cozy night in?

Kevin: Fancy dinner

Louise: I’m a fancy dinner too.

If you could take your Valentine anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Louise: Ooh, up to the lake at the cabin for a romantic night.

Kevin: Anywhere in the world, I’m going to go Milan.

What’s the most thoughtful thing someone has done for you recently?

Kevin: Oh, wow. I get a lot of help. We had some people volunteer to do some stuff with the Spokane Jazz Orchestra, and it really helped us a lot.

Louise: We just had Diane’s funeral, Peter’s wife, this past weekend, and my 4 best friends from college always check on me, you know, emailing, calling, and they’re so thoughtful about always doing the extra things on me. I don’t know I need it but I need it.

How long have you been a Rotarian and if you met someone who didn’t know anything about Rotary, would you want them to know?

Louise: I think I’ve been a member, what year is it, ‘26? 12 years, 10 years? (Louise joined in 2017.) I would say just come to a meeting, experience the friendship, and just the love that is always in the room is pretty amazing and what we do for our community, we’re pretty spoiled.

Kevin: I joined in 2014 when Mike Church was President, and I would say, you want to come be part of this group of professionals who are community minded that are truly changing the lives of people. I think about Foster KidFest, first and foremost. You know, what a difference that makes for those kids in our community.
