Greetings My Rotary Family!
Happy Valentine’s Day! It will be a great week for Rotary Club 21 with the second week of the Rotary Membership Drive. We are so thankful to all who have brought a guest and prospective member to our meetings this month! Please continue to invite those friends and colleagues that would enjoy one of our meetings and you believe would be a future great Rotarian.
We also have our quarterly wine event this week on Thursday, February 13th starting at 5:00 in the Philanthropy Center, lower level. Please RSVP for the event and bring a guest! Some have asked me why I enjoy wine as a hobby. Beth and I began our wine journey about 20 years ago while visiting the Yakima Valley with family. We soon discovered the rich variety of amazing varietals and wineries that our region creates.
The parallels of wine in our lives are uncanny. From the simple idea that wine gets better with age and so do we, to the fact that some of the best varietals, like Cabernet Sauvignon, will produce their best vintages when under growing stress like the lack of water. Our lives are like that too. I could go on and on about these comparisons. The best part about wine is that it is truly great when enjoyed with others. I have found fellow wine lovers in my Rotary Club 21 family and look forward to our time together this week. If you are new to wine, this is a great time to learn and develop your knowledge of the wine world.
Especially with this week focused on love, celebrate with a loved one a nice bottle of wine!
I hope you have a week filled with laughter and love!
Cheers,
Paul S. Viren
