What’s your favorite breakfast food?
Georgia: Bacon
 Jack: Bacon
 
What’s the last book you read?
Jack: Can I phone a friend? I could call my wife, and she could tell me what my answer is. I don’t know, I read about 3 books a week. [Julie asks: What’s your favorite book you’ve read recently?] It’s called “Paper.” [Julie asks: What’s it about?] It’s the history of paper.
Georgia: The last book I read was called “Gut.” I do love anything with medical research.
 
Are you a PROcrastinator or a PREcrastinator (you get things done right away)?
Georgia: Precrastinator
Jack: Is retired a choice? [Julie responds: It can absolutely be.] Precrastinator
 
What’s your favorite way to unwind at the end of the day?
Jack: Fish
Georgia: Hiking or walking
 
 How many years have you been a member of Rotary?
Georgia: 2 years
Jack: 43 years
 
What’s your Rotary why?
 Jack: Well, it started out because my dad was a member, and I would bring him to Rotary. It just grew and grew, and now it’s about the only thing I know
Georgia: All of my friends in the room and the community impact.

Rotary North Tours

You're Invited

Rotary North has coordinated the following tours to increase community awareness and offer an opportunity to get to know fellow Rotarians.

You MUST email Laura Zahn laurazahn@windermere.com to sign up and receive confirmation with additional details.

When: Thur, Aug. 28, 4 p.m.

Where: Hutton Settlement -

9907 E Wellesley, Spokane Valley

(Note that Arbor Crest is having a concert that night at 5:30 pm, tickets sold separately and on your own!)

 
When: Thur,  Sept 18, 10 a.m.
Where: Tour of Waste to Energy Plant, 2900 S. Geiger, about 40 minutes walking expected, 90 minutes total.
 
 
Please remember to contact Laura Zahn first. Please do not show up on your own. She needs to get a headcount, explain parking or attire, and communicate other important instructions.

Host Family Needed

Theo, our incoming exchange student from Sweden, arrives on August 17 and will be with us until around the end of June 2026. 
 
We have a first host family, but we need a second host family in the Ferris High School catchment area.  The second host family would host from the end of January to June 2026. 
 
If your family is interested in hosting or knows of someone who may be willing to host, please contact:
