Note from
Vice President Price

“F” is for “Fun-Raising”

Greetings fellow Club 21 Rotarians. I was given the opportunity to do a takeover of President Kyle’s weekly letter to talk about our RCS campaign. While our esteemed president has stated that last Thursday’s F-word was fundraising, since I am in takeover mode, I thought I would hijack the F-word and rename it FUN-RAISING!

While the amazing work we accomplish in our community with hands-on projects and over $200,000 in annual grants is no joke, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little FUN while we come together and focus on this year’s campaign.

Be on the lookout for the RCS launch letter and future updates from me which will be going out soon, and please be sure to read both sides as I will be sharing stories of specific people and groups your generous donations have helped. This first letter will feature a past Spokane student, Vern Boyd, who received a vocational services award in 2016.

This year’s RCS theme is “Elevating our Community”. That came to me early on because that’s what you do. You constantly raise up the people of this community and other parts of the world through your work and generous donations.

Now, for the FUN part. If you know me, you had to know I was going for a mountain climbing theme. I will also be bringing some of our old RCS celebrities for visits, skits, and maximum pumpitude, along with a few new friends as well to help me as we update our pledges and goal. You may even see me on a mountain or two with my Club 21 sign making my pitch at “elevation.”

My friends, what we do has a major impact on so many people, and that is because this club always comes together to make things happen. I’m looking forward to being your RCS leader, and know that we will continue making a difference through your actions and generosity.  Thank you for your leadership and even more important, your hearts.

             Truly Honored,

                        Rod Price
