2/19/26 Rotary Off the Cuff: Julie Morin & Rick Voit
Do you prefer a paper book or an audiobook?
Julie: Paper book.
Rick: A YouTube.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Rick: Pistachio (in his best Chicago accent)
Julie: Chocolate peanut butter
What is one thing you’re grateful for today?
Julie: I would say my kids. We had a group chat going this morning, and it just makes me laugh. It’s fun to see what they’re doing.
Rick: Actually, my friend, Kevin, could change his schedule to be a guest today.
All for you buddy!
What’s something in your life that has turned out different than you imagined?
Rick: Oh my gosh, my career. (Do you want to say more?) Well, I love airplanes. You guys know I love airplanes and airlines, and I think you know I tried to get into the airline business, and I thank God and His mercy kept me out of it and put me in the money business instead.
Julie: I would say I never expected I’d be running my own business at my age.
When did you join Rotary Club 21, and what is most meaningful to you about being a Rotarian?
Julie: I believe it was 2018 that I started. I’m just really inspired by the people who have been in the Club for a lot of years, as the table that I’m with, which I never get to sit there, so it’s really great. But also, some of the new people joining. This is a really feel-good place to be.
Rick: I think it was four or five years ago, and it’s having like-minded people get together that we can be from different backgrounds and have different beliefs, but we’re all pulling in the same direction. Then you get the synergy, somebody has an idea, somebody else will chime in, and I think that’s the magic.
