What was your nickname as a kid?
Sabrina: Brie
Dan: Curley Fries
Do you prefer brainstorming in a group or solo thinking time?
Dan: Group
Sabrina: Solo
What’s the thing you’re looking most forward to over Labor Day weekend?
Sabrina: We’re going up to our condo up at Schweitzer Mountain, and we’re going to be attending Fall Fest. Which, if you’ve never been, it’s a really fun event.
Dan: We don’t have a soccer tournament this weekend, so that’s really exciting. We’re doing yard work.
What’s an accomplishment you are most proud of?
Dan: This summer, I was a project manager for the Cheney Aquatic Center. Getting it open is pretty cool.
Sabrina: Keeping our children alive through adulthood. And actually, I was able to attend our daughter’s commissioning. She was just commissioned a couple of weeks ago as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
How many years have you been a Rotary member, and what inspires you to be a Rotarian?
Sabrina: I started in Rotaract in 1990, no, right after law school, so ‘95. So what is that, 30 years? When I was 10! When they let people into Rotaract when they were 10. I’ve been in for 30 years. Rotaract, and then came into Rotary when they kicked me out of Rotaract. You all heard my story when I had my Paul Harris Fellow a few weeks ago; it’s a family legacy for me. My grandfather was a Rotarian and my dad, and though my attendance has been lacking for the last few years, I just feel a real historic pull and the great work that we do. I’m looking forward to staying more connected.
Dan: I was in Rotary for 3 years before moving to the city of Cheney, and now I came back a couple of years ago, so I think close to 5 years now. For me, it’s really important to intentionally come into this group and think about being a servant and being around people who are also interested in serving. It’s a good way to be purposeful about getting involved.
