Notes from
President Gary

Road Trips!

As we continue with the Community of Rotary Theme, we’re going to try a couple of new opportunities for our community to spend some time together this week.

First up, this Wednesday, Dennis Murphy will be hosting a breakfast drive-in at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home & Crematory  - 2203 N. Division, Spokane WA.

Seriously…
The parking lot at Hennessey will be the place for us to meet, mingle, and socially distance ourselves in our cars while enjoying fellowship, coffee, and doughnuts. The meetup starts at 7 am and ends at 8:30 am. If you’re planning to attend, get there early, because the lot only holds room for 30 cars. For those of us who remember the old drive-in movies…you don’t need to hide Rotarians in your trunk or under blankets in the family station wagon – just show up, meet up and fill up.

See you then…But wait, there’s more….
Thanks to all of you who have been hosting your fellow Rotarians at home and work over the past few weeks. And, while I’ve enjoyed hosting the Pockets of Fellowship at KSPS, I’d like to see more of you before the snow flies.  So, I’m taking a break from hosting this week to visit some of the other pocket spots…This week “Have Gavel,  Will Travel“ will be at Lars Gilberts's office in the U District - Ignite NW Building, 120 N Pine St, Ste 292   -  you bring yourself and/or lunch, I’ll bring the Bell and Gavel…

Look forward to seeing several of you in person Downtown on Thursday and more on Zoom…
Fun and Fellowship for everyone…

See you on Thursday, from wherever you are.

SAVE THE DATE!
October 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the first-ever Virtual Rotary Club #21 Game Night!
The Rotary Club #21 Member Engagement Committee has a fun night planned on October 17th.  Kyle Weir and Manny Hochheimer will be hosting a “Virtual Game Night.”  The plan is to have teams of five meet at different “hosts” homes and then log into a Zoom call at 6:00 p.m.  Your 5 person team will compete against the other 5 person teams in a game of Virtual Trivial Pursuit.  We may even toss in some Rotary and Spokane questions just to mix it up and have fun!
If you’d like to be part of this fun evening please email the Rotary Office and let us know you’d like to play.  Also, please let us know if you’d be willing to host a team at your home as well.  Once we get closer to game night we can match up contestants and hosts.  And, Kyle & Manny said they’d even toss in some fun prizes for the winning team!
So please mark your calendars now and let the Rotary Office know if you plan on attending this fun member engagement event on October 17th!
