Pockets of Fellowship
I miss the Spokane Club…not the building, but what it represents. Thursday‘s from 11 am – 1:30 pm was our time: time to reconnect with friends; time to find out something interesting in our community from the speaker of the day; time to take a break from the workday to commiserate with others doing the same; and most importantly – time to just enjoy the time we spend together.
For the past few months, that hasn’t been an option. But where there’s a Rotarian, there’s a way. So, as I mentioned at last week’s meeting, are there any Rotarians who would be interested in hosting a small group of Rotary 21 members – at their home, workplace, or some other designated spot where these groups can gather – to watch the live Zoom feed of the meeting? Think of it as a more personal version of your table at the Spokane Club.
If anyone is interested in hosting, please let Diana know by Noon Tuesday. We’ll send out the information on the hosts and once each location reaches its limit, that spot is closed.
As I’m the Program Owner this week, I won’t be able to host, but if anyone would like to join me at KSPS on August 13th, please let Diana know. Lunch will be whatever you decide to bring, and BYOM (Bring Your Own Mask.)
I hope these Pockets of Fellowship will start a trend to at least get a few of us together in person now, while we await the time we can all be together in the future. (And yes, I know that Pockets of Fellowship sounds like either a bad band name or a great show choir name.)
If anyone has a better suggestion for the name- please send them my way. The winner gets their very own Rotary Mask.
See you on Thursday, from wherever you are.
