This Weeks Rotary Story

Each week we will highlight a Rotary member and tell their story, so you can connect their face to their name and make a connection with them!

This week’s Rotary story is about a Rotarian who is married to Shelli and has three sons, Patrick, James, and Charlie. He owns and operates Sonderen Packaging with his sister, Keva.
Sonderen Packaging was founded in 1963 by their grandparents, Al & Mary Sonderen.  They make custom, retail paperboard packaging. If you regularly shop at the grocery stores, you likely have picked up a product in a paper box they have made.

He loves spending time with his family at Priest Lake, traveling, exploring, and eating foods in different locales. He participates in many outdoor activities and sports with his boys and father, Mark. They like to snow ski, hunt, fish, and ride mountain bikes.  He is the current President of the Northeast Community Center Board of Directors, has served on our own Club 21 Board of Directors, and is our current Paul Harris Fellow Committee Chair.

A favorite author of his is Michael Connely. His favorite movie is a spy thriller called Ronin. He loves all kinds of music from Jazz to Country to Classic Rock.

His Rotary story started when he was encouraged by Shelli to join Rotaract. After 7 years in Rotaract, he joined Club 21 because his father, Mark is a member, and his grandfather Al was a member. He says he has gained long-time friends through his Rotary membership, and while traveling and wearing Rotary shirts, he has met the most interesting people! Through Rotary, he says he receives a great deal of satisfaction knowing that he is helping people in his community who really need it most.
