Notes from
President Paul

Greetings My Rotary Family!

I am so pleased with the hard work of our many committees.  I would estimate that more than 50% of our members are serving on a committee and many serve on more than one!  Thank you for your volunteer time and energy.  You are what makes Rotary Club 21 great.

I have two requests as your Club President.  I don’t ask for help all that often, so when I do, please know it is important.

1) If you are on a committee and not that active, please get re-engaged!  If you are not serving on a committee please pick one, anyone and get active. If you want some suggestions, please let Jenna or me know.  Getting involved will make your Rotary experience so much more impactful on your life.

2) Each of the Rotary Community Service Committees needs your help!  These committees need grant requests and projects to work on and fund before the end of June!  We are currently lagging in our grants as compared to prior years and it is important to get the word out to the many worthy organizations and individuals that we have resources available.  If you have an idea please let me know and I will direct the suggestion to the right committee!

Enjoy this Leap Year week!  With an extra day hopefully, you can get caught up on projects, or take the day off.  😊

                      Cheers,

Paul S. Viren
Spokane Rotary Club 21, President

Youth Exchange

The International Service Committee seeks a club member with an age-appropriate male child to host a German student for three weeks in the summer exchange.

The student would need to be the child or grandchild of a Club 21 member. Our student would go to Germany for three weeks, the host student would return to the US for three weeks. Students would need to be between 15 and 17 years old. This is a cultural exchange and should occur after the conclusion of the school year.  Please contact Karen Mobley, by March 1st if interested!
