Football season has started and I’m reminded of my old high school football coach preaching to us that without the fundamentals of blocking and tackling, our specialty plays won’t mean a thing in the bigger picture of a game and season (something our state Pac12 schools forgot about last weekend.) In Rotary we also have fundamentals. The basics of being a Rotarian are knowing and living the Rotary Four-Way Test. Without knowing the fundamentals of being a Rotarian, our specialty work won’t mean a thing in the bigger picture if we don’t have the fundamentals down of what it means to be a Rotarian. One of our specialties in Rotary is Foreign Exchange (Yes, another Rotary “F” word!). Our International Services Committee is seeking host families for international students for the 2022 – 2023 year. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in being a host family please contact Karen Mobley or Jim Johnson for more details. 

 

So remember, “F” is for Fundamentals and “F” is for Foreign Exchange.  Please take a few minutes to learn about the fundamentals and history of the Four-Way Test and please do consider being a host family for a foreign exchange student.  It will help you embrace what it truly means to be a Rotarian!
