Note from
President Weir

“F” is for fundamentals

Football season has started and I’m reminded of my old high school football coach preaching to us that without the fundamentals of blocking and tackling, our specialty plays won’t mean a thing in the bigger picture of a game and season (something our state Pac12 schools forgot about last weekend.) In Rotary we also have fundamentals. The basics of being a Rotarian are knowing and living the Rotary Four-Way Test. Without knowing the fundamentals of being a Rotarian, our specialty work won’t mean a thing in the bigger picture if we don’t have the fundamentals down of what it means to be a Rotarian. But do you know the history of the Rotary Four-Way Test?  If not, please CLICK HERE to learn more about it.

One of our specialties in Rotary is Foreign Exchange (Yes, another Rotary “F” word!). Our International Services Committee is seeking host families for international students for the 2022 – 2023 year. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in being a host family please contact Karen Mobley or Jim Johnson for more details.

So remember, “F” is for Fundamentals and “F” is for Foreign Exchange.  Please take a few minutes to learn about the fundamentals and history of the Four-Way Test and please do consider being a host family for a foreign exchange student.  It will help you embrace what it truly means to be a Rotarian!
