It’s been a while since we’ve had a meeting that doesn’t have tiny video windows.
That is about to change. Starting this week, there two opportunities for fellowship...in person...this week. And next week. Seriously.
First up, we’re taking Thursday’s meeting on the road. I will have a gavel and will travel to the Pickleball Playground at 10505 N. Newport Highway. There will be pickleball demos by some of the best players in the region, and those members who attend may have the chance to play or try out pickleball. And incoming Member Engagement co-chair Manny Hochheimer will be our host and program owner. If you’ve not let the Rotary Office know you’re going, please do so TODAY and plan to get to the Pickleball Playground by 11:00 am. Not ready to meet in person yet? Don't worry this meeting will still be available on Zoom!
But wait...there’s more. On June 16th, we’re having a “Welcome to Rotary 21” party for new members (and their families.) From 4:30 - 7:00 PM at the Rotary shelter in Manito Park. Rotarians from the Member Engagement Committee and Board of Directors will be attending. And if any of you would like to join us to meet and greet the Class of 2020-2021, please
RSVP to the Rotary Office by June 14th. Light refreshments will be served.
So as we ease our way into weekly in-person meetings in July, these events will be a great way to get out of the house/office/lake home and join us for some pickleball, park fun, and fellowship.
To use a well-worn quote from my younger days in Philadelphia - “Don’t meet me there...beat me there!”
