Rotary's partner, Disaster Aid USA, is deploying volunteers to support the Spokane community impacted by wildfires. Your time, skills, and compassion can make a real difference when it matters most. We're looking for volunteers to help siftashes, sort debris, and perform general property clean-up.

Rotary Talent Show
What's your talent? Plan ahead to sing, read your poems, dance, or create a short stand-up set or something fun for our upcoming talent show. Be sure to check in with Mark Barnes @ natfurnman@gmail.com for this and make sure we know what you need. We're also looking for a sound person and a grip. This is going to be fun!

9/03/26 Rotary Off the Cuff: Catherine Richards & Mark Luna
Do you own a fire extinguisher?
Catherine: Yes, we have four of them.
Mark: I believe there is one under the kitchen sink. So yes.
Have you been trained to use your fire extinguisher?
Catherine: Yes. As a child growing up, we learned how to use the fire extinguisher because we had a wood stove, and we did our fire extinguisher training with our kids. The two older ones, not the two that are for sale. The oldest is 8, and she very magically made our house white.
Mark: Fortunately, we have never had to use it, but yes, we were trained on it years ago, in addition to a fire blanket we have in the kitchen.
If your house catches on fire or there is an evacuation, where do you meet your family?
Catherine: At the neighbor's house. We taught our children to go to the neighbor's house. So that is the first place they will go if there is a fire
Mark: Across the street by the fence because we live on a dead-end street.
