Dignified Workday

Kathy Hammonds is a Program Manager at Career Path Services, leading the Dignified Workday initiative. Kathy has worked for Career Path Services for 10 years and holds a Master’s Degree in Education. With over 25 years of experience, she has worked with underserved populations in workforce development, education, business, and community initiatives. Kathy's experience and passion for helping others make her a valuable asset to Career Path Services and the communities she serves. Launched in 2024, the Dignified Workday Program is a low-barrier employment initiative aimed at helping people experiencing homelessness and instability. The program provides meaningful job opportunities, allowing participants to earn an income, build stability, and even qualify for housing. Workers are trained, supervised, and paid to perform various services for local businesses and organizations, such as demolition, commercial cleaning, painting, street clean-up, and graffiti abatement in East Central and Downtown Spokane. Dignified Workday is an initiative that recognizes that employment is necessary for individuals to obtain stable housing, and not only supports individuals in need but also benefits the community as a whole. |

Entrepreneurs Against Poverty (EntrAPov) connects sponsor-donors to small entrepreneurs in areas where the $US dollar goes a long way toward starting a business that lifts families out of poverty…permanently. We do this through a “pitch show” called Shark Pond. Entrepreneurs are prepared for the show by approved educational partners in Africa. Budding entrepreneurs then compete for startup funds to launch their businesses. |
